2012!

happy 2012!

this new year celebration has been interesting.

i have always loved the simple and budget travelling experience. i would consider myself a backpacker and take the road less travelled. having been to the run down poor and not so nice places, this new year celebration i had celebrated the other extreme of life. not too extreme but good enough to be different.

so, whats the difference between these experiences, i think the biggest difference is the involvement. when travelling big, i dont have to think too much. everything has been settled and actually there are only those few stuff to do or eat as you have to have the best. so, i am just a follower. when travelling in budget, everything is new. no one knows what you should do go or see. everything is an experience and you could do anything possible. walk on the road and you decide to rent a bike or car and you do it, or decide to try this stall that looks suspicious not knowing or caring if its by a famous chef or freshest ingredients (as long as it looks clean enough).

of course being luxurious give the best accomodation with actual working toilet where i would want to spend some time on myself rather than just cleaning myself up. and the fluffy bed and pillows i could sink into knowing i wouldnt get bed bites the next day and actual working heater or air con. the comfort...

basically i am glad i had experienced both but cant wait for my next backpacking experience

aussie

this blog post is dedicated to adarina low yuen kee!!!

this was my second trip to aussie world. down under. thou i did not meet hugh jackman lookalike... i remembered how much i love that place. i was surprised how much i rem from our previous trip.

first and foremost the most iconic structure for our entire trip... opera house! i think we visited this place like 2 million times on our first trip. spent so much time and took so many pictures of this place it brings back so much memories!

i even rem this mac! close to the opera house which we ate in cos we did not have alot of money and it was late and it was the only thing we could have that time. oooohhhhh....

this is bondi beach!!! the first time i took up surfing! while ada waited for me. first time i successfully stood on the board and so proud of it! so beautiful....


last but not least melbourne. i miss great ocean drive but did not have time to revisit that place and everyone thinks its boring T____T


overall i love this trip thou i was more like a slave making everyone happy and just doing whatever they ask me to but i am glad i went and rem most of the things on my first trip. it was good cos we did different things. i am still amazed how much we travelled on our own previously and managed to visit so many places without renting a car and relying on public transport while we were just 19!!! ADA!!! how time flies!!!!

bird nest..

as i get older i am beginning to appreciate all these chinese food esp those with health and beauty benefits >.,<

one of them *drumroll* would be bird nest. fortunately *erhm* my family has supply of it. but after listening to those horrific stories i realised how much risk people are taking from buying off the shelves bird nest! omg!

1. bleached bird nest. some manufacturers just bleached the bird nest to save labor cost of cleaning those bird feathers and other dirty stuff. to tell if its been chemically treated just smell it to detect burnt smell. thats what i was told

2. bird bugs! omg! apparantly there are these bugs that could be still living or its eggs still alive crawling despite all these. so if u buy off the shelves be very very very very careful. not funny

3. blood or golden bird nest. the reason they changed colours is cos of ammonia. this means its their pee or shit. so the only way to get coloured bird nest if its been left for too long or fed with fertilizers.

so far these are the only stuff i can think of. but if u girls wanna get some u can get fr my mum. not doing business here but guaranteed cleaner and better for health.... and most prob cheaper too haha

skinny vs fat...

i have a qn...

why is it that skinny girls are more attractive than fat girls?!?!?!

humans are survival creatures. if we are survival creatures, wouldn't we be attracted to fat people instead of skinny? fat people would survive better than skinny people right? at least they would not starve to death as fast. maybe muscular people but to be attracted to skinny people doesnt make sense to me...

personally i wouldnt fancy a fat blubber guy but to choose between skinny and fat i guess i would prefer fat. plus it makes me look skinny :D

love SH!

back in Singapore!

before i went SH, everyone said i would love the place. at first i was skeptikal. i dont usually love a place unless its really unique, but i really love SH. thou i cant really place why, and the too much drama taking place while i was there doesnt help either. i love SH!

i love SH cos every turn makes me feel like i am in a different place. every corner has something that surprises me. new an old both within a place. every day is a surprise if i bother to explore a lil more... shopping is tiring cos there are wayyyyyyyy too many places to shop and bargaining is a MUST and takes most of the shopping time. but every shop has something different to offer.

despite all the bed comments i heard about the people, i think they are pretty nice. thou they are prob not most service oriented people but generally they are nice and real and not fake.

basically i love SH

~phoneless...

this is the story of rusmi trying to get connected again.

ever since i lost my phone to the shanghai sewage... i have been trying to get connected. OMG! its crazy!!! everyone is helping me but its not working. firstly i got a spare phone from a friend. turned out it doesnt work anymore. so i got a sim card and another spare phone fr another friend. i couldnt activate the phone no matter what. so i went to ask this hp shop and he told me i need a phone made in china -,-''' lets see if i could use another spare phone fr a friend or should i just get a proper phone?!?!?!? sigh... i think its fated for me to live here without a phone...
